What keeps boudoir photography from being boring is that you can do it pretty much anywhere, like hotel boudoir. From hotel boudoir to boutique hotel boudoir to Airbnbs to studios, there’s not lack of options. For me, hotels are some of my favorites because they have that perfect mix of predictability, versatility, and comfort.
Cortney, one of my soon-to-be wedding clients, decided to go for a hotel boudoir shoot to get comfortable and get to know me better before her big day. Spending around three hours together, including hair, makeup, outfit changes, and the actual shoot, gave us plenty of time to build trust. We laughed, talked, and clicked (not just the camera, but also as friends). By immersing herself in this intimate experience, Cortney not only embraced her vulnerability but also forged a strong connection with me, making her wedding day even better.
Hotels are great when it comes to lighting. There are no surprises because I know the hotels I like to use. With hotels, you get a controlled environment that lets us work magic. Plus, hotels offer a treasure trove of props, amazing settings, and unique spots to strike a pose. Think plush beds, elegant furniture, beautiful natural light streaming through the windows, and stylish decor. It’s like a playground for boudoir photography.
Choosing a hotel for your boudoir shoot has an extra perk—it’s a place that means something to you and your partner. The familiar surroundings of a hotel room create that cozy, intimate vibe and bring back memories that make your photos extra special. Your partner will be over the moon when they see the final images, recognizing the connection between the alluring setting and the gorgeous person they adore. Talk about capturing the love!
Cortney took it up a notch by bringing a friend to her hotel boudoir shoot. We chatted, sipped champagne, and had a cheer squad to root for her during the shoot. It created an atmosphere of celebration, empowerment, and all-around good vibes. It’s like having your own entourage, boosting your confidence and making the experience even more unforgettable.
There are so many options for boudoir locations, not just hotels. Boutique hotels with a unique flair, interesting Airbnbs, breathtaking natural outdoor settings, or fully decked-out photo studios—take your pick. What matters most is choosing a location that speaks to you and matches your vision.
Hotel boudoir shoots are one of my favorite options, offering predictability, creativity, and a chance to build trust. Just like Cortney did, you can embrace your femininity, strengthen your bond with me before a wedding day, and create memories. Whether you go for a hotel, a chic boutique, or somewhere else entirely, find a space that truly reflects your personality and brings your vision to life.
