As an Olympic Peninsula photographer, there’s nothing quite like the magic of an engagement shoot amidst the serene beauty of Lake Crescent. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing my brother and his fiancée, and it was an experience filled with love, laughter, and the enchanting mist of a PNW winter day.
A plus to do my brother’s engagement shoot is that my whole family loves his fiancee. This was a really fun shoot in one of my favorite places to do it. Being experienced with shoots on the Olympic Peninsula, I have a list of places I really like to take people. One of the more well known was, that has such a great view is Lake Crescent.
Lake Crescent, with its ever-changing moods and vistas, provided the perfect backdrop for this shoot. The fog rolled in, casting a veil over the landscape, creating a vibe of quiet romance. It’s one of my favorite places to shoot! The views never get old.
One of the joys of being a photographer is the opportunity to capture both candid moments and posed shots. For engagement shoots, I believe in striking a balance between the two. While some couples may feel a bit shy in front of the camera, my goal is to make them feel comfortable and natural, ensuring that their true selves come through.
During our time at Lake Crescent, we explored the shoreline, capturing tender glances and shared laughter against the backdrop of mist and water. From playful candid shots to intimate posed portraits, the whole experience was so good.
Highly recommend getting out there and shooting with your own family in your favorite places.
