This was the first time I got to shoot a Manor House wedding and it has become one of my favorite venues. Located on Bainbridge Island at Pleasant Beach Village, you get views of the sound through the trees, and amazing architecture. Manor House is a 1920’s Tudor style house that offers amazing sunsets when the Pacific Northwest weather behaves.
Manor House is Bainbridge’s perfect wedding venue.
Hana and Christian opted to have a clear, pitched tent with hanging chandeliers of greenery. If you’ve ever considered a live ceiling for your wedding, do it! The results are stunning and will elevate any wedding. And the clear tent allowed so much light to get in, which meant they didn’t have to spend money on other lights. Plus, it’s a photographers dream to have that smooth, even light during the ceremony.
While the Manor House feels intimate, it can fit up to 150 people, which was perfect for Hana and Christian’s party. They filled the space and got to hang out with all of their friends and family. They had a fun wedding party entrance to the reception, which you can evidence of below. And their toasts were so sweet, it brought people to tears several times.
Wedding speeches: to have or not to have?
If you’re debating about whether or not to have speeches at your wedding, it’s okay to ask around first and see if people in your friends or family even want to do it! These two had emotional, great speeches, but if that’s not your vibe, there are plenty of other options for reception events.
Some people like to play the shoe game, have an anniversary dance, or limit it to just a thank you speech from the couple. Whatever way you go, it’s your wedding, and you can’t go wrong as long as you’re happy with it!
